The plant will serve as a hub for all Western European distribution with a maximum three day delivery guarantee.

Less than two years after the launch of its UK site in Suffolk, labelstock supplier Frimpeks has added a 35,000 square foot bespoke slitting and finishing facility in Market Harborough. This facility will become the hub for all Western European distribution with a maximum three day delivery guarantee across the region. The new added value service will provide custom slit rolls for label printers and converters across the Western European region with a capacity to convert over 100 million square meters of label stock per year. A guaranteed next day net width service will be available to UK customers, thus saving time and reducing stock management difficulties. The facility will, by mid 2017, house four slitting lines with the capability of producing slit rolls of all material types and at roll lengths of up to 6000m. Automatic roll handling and packing lines mean minimal human intervention in the whole process, while the existing SAP system means a fully automated, paperless production flow throughout the whole plant. The move is part of Frimpeks committment to building its quality and service reputation in the European market. In addition, a newly upgraded hot-melt coating line is also being installed at the company’s Saxmundham laminating plant, boosting capacity at the plant to over 90m square meters per year. The Saxmundham site has been further expanding with the addition of 15000 square feet of warehousing with the existing plant being altered and refitted to support the new hot melt coating line. he plant produces a broad range of adhesives from standard permanents through to deep freeze, removables and super peel on both acrylic and hot melt adhesive types. Frimpeks’ UK Managing Director Dave Casey comments: “This investment has already been received positively by our existing customers and will no doubt encourage potential customers to test out our product range. The local community at Market Harborough will see an additional 25 new jobs created over the coming year with plans to expand the operation to 50+ employees across the next few years. The Frimpeks ethos is all about understanding our customers’ requirements and continually refining our service to meet the needs of the market – the Market Harborough plant meets these needs immediately.” Frimpeks operations span several countries including; UK, Germany, USA, Russia, Slovenia and Turkey.
